In a groundbreaking move, Ukraine has launched the world's first AI-generated spokesperson for its foreign ministry. Named Victoria Shi, this digital persona is set to deliver official statements and engage with media regarding various national issues, including ongoing military conflicts.

Her name, Victoria, reflects the "victory of Ukraine," while her last name, "Shi," is derived from the Ukrainian word for artificial intelligence, "Shtuchniy Intelekt."

The character of Victoria Shi was modeled after Ukrainian singer and influencer Rosalie Nombre, who collaborated with the foreign ministry for this initiative. The project was developed by The Game Changers, a local firm known for their previous project with the ministry called "Living the War," which focused on raising awareness and aid for Ukraine during the ongoing conflict.

Operational Benefits and Technological Leap

According to Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, the decision to create an AI spokesperson was driven by the need to optimize the ministry's operations, allowing real diplomats to focus more on intensive consular work. Minister Kuleba emphasized that this innovative step is part of Ukraine's broader strategy to enhance its diplomatic operations and embrace technology more extensively than any other diplomatic service worldwide.

To combat digital misinformation, each official video release featuring Victoria will include a QR code linking to a textual statement on the ministry’s official website, ensuring the authenticity of the information.
